What a wonderful web site you have and how smart you look in your uniforms!
As one Sea Scout to another, I hope we can link up this term. I know my Cubs are excited about the prospect.

Congratulations on your Golden Jubilee! I was a member of the Caronia Pack Wolf Cubs - 9th New Forest East (Eling), from which your troop must have descended from, looking at the scarf colours. I joined in February 1964 and was sixer of Tawny six before moving away to Kent in 1966. We used to meet on Friday evenings in the old Totton Football Clubhouse off Testwood Lane. There were 2 packs, Mauretania Pack used to meet on a different evening. I went away to summer camp in 1965 and we stayed in Guillemont Barracks in Aldershot, we had a great time visiting the various army centres and using their training facilities. There were 22 cubs & 7 leaders and I remember we all got into a very large rowing boat and the adults rowed us around an army lake. Akela was Skipper Peter Clark, who was a caterer by trade and so the food was excellent! We used to play football Saturday afternoons against other cub packs in the New Forest laegue and we won the league in 1966, I still have my medal and my cub cap & neckerchief. Best wishes for your Golden Jubilee and Centenary & BRAVO Kind regards and thanks for the memories - Mick Marcer |
