Leadership Opportunities

Eling Sea Scouts are expanding in their GoldenJubilee Year.

The Group celebrates 50 years of Scouting in 2007.

With the signing of the agreement to build the new Aquativity water activities centre at Testwood Lakes, the Group is entering a new and exciting phase in its long history.  All four sections are becoming very busy and we have some waiting lists for youngsters wishing to join.

  • We now have vacancies for Scout Leaders and Instructors and this is a "Golden" opportunity for suitably qualified people to get involved with this dynamic Sea Scout Group and help shape its future.

  • As a Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scout group we maintain high standards of training in Nautical Skills.  Leaders and instructors are able to enjoy the water activities and learn new talents for themselves.  All sections also cover the full range of scouting activites undertaken by normal land-based groups.

  • For Leaders, experience of scouting is an advantage but not essential.  An extensive programme of training will be provided through the Scout Association.

  • Experienced RYA qualified instructors for sailing and BCU qualified instructors for canoeing will be particularly welcome.

As we work with young children, Leaders and Instructors will all be subject to Criminal Records Bureau checks and the normal Scout Association membership procedures before starting.
