4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts - the place for outdoor adventure

4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts are based in Totton on the northern edge of the New Forest.  The Group was founded in 1957 as 9th New Forest East, so 2007 saw us celebrate our Golden Jubilee alongside the Scouts' Centenary Celebrations. If you have any information about the Group, or were once a member, please get in touch as we would love to hear from you.

The Group is highly successful and now has waiting lists to join Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.  If you are seeking a place in the Group for your child please read the Waiting List Policy attached below.

We are always looking for volunteers to help run the group - administrators, fund raisers, building tradespeople or anyone who can help train our youngsters in a variety of skills.  Please use the Contact Us button to get in touch.

The Sea Scout Troop is one of 101 recognised by the Royal Navy (number 99) and as such is proud to fly the defaced Red Ensign. Members are also entitled to wear the special RN Recognition badge.  Recognised Troops are subject to inspection by RN officers every 18 months.  We completed the last inspection successfully in February 2010.

The Group currently operates from a hut in Totton, but has a new base at Testwood Lakes with plannning permission for a new Group Headquarters, to be known as the Aquativity Centre.  This will be built right  alongside the reservoir with easy access to superb boating water.  The Group has planning permission and is now concentrating its efforts on securing the rest of the funding for this important local community centre.
